We have been working on a score based on moving because of desire.
Prompts: (written pre - rehearsal)
1. Allow desire to take over and allow yourself to fulfill these desires with open-hearted immediacy.
2. Repetition can sometimes lead to catharsis or a new state
3. Allow this to allow you to transform
4. Don't (over) think - go.
5. Don't allow yourself to "get tired" - when you have the urge to stop, just stop (no need to push through, make what you are doing of the utmost importance and when it's over, it's over.)
Trying this as practice - move from desire and these prompts, and you can be "in" and "out" if need be (see others when you are not moving).
(it felt appropriate to include this current jam / music we did this - practice - today to)
How did it go?
Some thoughts:
- allowing self to let go and not plan, and feeling good about this
- because improvisation is already "desire" based, something helpful was giving self directions and making decisions - thinking first but in the moment immediately "going." For example, "fall, arm, get up, down, etc"
- it felt good to just "go" around people in the space who were doing their own "just going" as well
